Under its skin is a surprisingly strong yellow-orange color, with which you can add color to your meal. It is often referred to as the “saffron of India” and is an important ingredient of curry.

In Ayurveda turmeric is considered a natural antibiotic and it is important in Asian cuisine. In Europe, it is gaining ground especially in food therapy for cancer patients. The inhibiting effect on tumors is attributed, above all, to the curcumin dye. Liver and bile are reinforced by the consumption of turmeric. Turmeric should be used more often in the kitchen: not just because of its exotic color but because of the great benefits to your health!

Turmeric in Ayurveda and his effect on the doshas: Turmeric has an reducing effect on all 3 doshas. It´s taste is bitter and hot. It is considered as an antiseptic, anti-inflammatory remedy, cleanses the blood and is a good therapeutic for the skin (inside application).

For piles: a local application with a paste made out of aloe vera and turmeric can be helpful.

For conjunctivitis: bring to boiling 1 part of turmeric with 8 parts of destilled water, filter it and applicate 2 – 3 drops in the eye.

When you buy turmeric be careful to look for good quality. The best is the fresh root, which can be found in many “bio” shops at a reasonable price. You can “sratch” the skin with a spoon easily, or use a potato peeler.

A word of caution: turmeric is a powerful dye so keep this in mind while handling it especially with your fingers. Better use plastic gloves.

Turmeric healing power Ayurveda

[388,278
post-555","project","type-project","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","skill-ayurveda-en","skill-ingredients

Turmeric - healing power Ayurveda | What food can

<meta name="description" content="The inhibiting effect on tumors is attributed, above all, to the curcumin dye.
